00:00So, in Canada, you started a band and started to grow a following in Canada?
00:06Yeah, you know...
00:07Mainly Detroit, really.
00:08We really did in Detroit.
00:10Yeah, we've always felt like an American band from the beginning.
00:12Our roots are really, like, in Detroit.
00:14Yeah.
00:15I wasn't sure what the support of Canadian Radio was for you guys,
00:18because I know that there is a rule that 50% of the music that's played has to be Canada
00:23-based.
00:24Right.
00:25So that's got to help a little bit.
00:26Yeah, definitely helped.
00:27Definitely helped at home.
00:28Good hometown.
00:30Because I think it's something with our particular sound, too,
00:32where we sound like an American band.
00:35We do better there.
00:36There are some Canadian treasures, like maybe a lot of people here wouldn't know.
00:40Arkells or Marianas Trench.
00:41Billy Talent.
00:42Billy Talent's one of our biggest influences.
00:43They're a punk band.
00:45And they could do arenas in Canada, but here they'll maybe do, like, 100 or 200 people in the club.
00:49It's so weird.
00:50I mean, obviously, Preston is a nuclear rush fan, and, you know, as many people are,
00:54and they're, you know, back on tour.
00:57But there's some that just don't pierce that border.
01:01They don't break through.
01:01Yeah.
01:02It's super hard.
01:02Part of it is if you sign to a Canadian label first, then you kind of get stuck into that
01:07territory.
01:08Yeah, that's a whole behind-the-scenes thing.
01:10And some of it's just the sound and the way it connects.
01:12And for us, like I said, Detroit's always just been insane for us from day one.
01:15I said, Detroit's always just been insane for us from day one.
01:17I said, Detroit's always just been insane for us from day one.
01:18I said, Detroit's always just been insane for us from day one.
01:19I said, Detroit's always just been insane for us from day one.
01:19I said, Detroit's always just been insane for us from day one.
01:19I said, Detroit's always just been insane for us from day one.
01:20I said, Detroit's always been insane for us from day one.
