Watch as an impressive supercell storm catches up to AccuWeather's Tony Laubach near Kirksville, Missouri, on June 10.
Transcript
00:00Yeah, Jeff, this is the supercell that is crossing over 63 heading into Kirksville right now. Very impressive. I mean,
00:08you're seeing this on the shot. Just I'm as wide as I can go with this storm right now. This
00:14is just an incredible sight that's moving across the road here in front of us.
00:18This, again, is going into Kirksville. Kirksville, your big threat in town is going to be the hail and the
00:24heavy rain, maybe some damaging winds. I believe the circulation is going to pass just to the south of town
00:30here. Again, this appears to be an HP supercell. Likely any circulation in this is going to be rain wrapped.
00:36But again, it should stay south of Kirksville.
00:39If you're in Millard, that might be an issue for you heading over to Brashear as well. So Millard to
00:47Brashear would be the area I would anticipate circulation is here. We're pointing northeast or sorry, northwest right now. This
00:56storm is going to cross just to the south of Kirksville again near the Millard area here shortly, Jeff.
01:13Yeah, and I'm going to take this out of this mess right now. But we again, the rain, no hail
01:25at this point is crossing Highway 63. The circulation, I believe I'm clear of the we're going to be again
01:32talking about RFD here.
01:34And this is not an illegal one. Yay. So guess what? I'm going to go ahead and take this route
01:38and flip around just to get clear of this precip.
01:40But look how dark it's gotten in here, Jeff. I mean, we went from like daylight with a view.
01:45And when I get turned around, you're going to see these rain curtains on the road in front of me,
01:49how quickly they're moving across the road here.
01:53So I've flipped around. I get the wipers hit for you. And you can see the rain curtains racing across
01:59the road here.
02:00So very solid indication that there is certainly some rotation evident in this right now.
02:07We're again RFD south side of the hook of where this storm would be. Windsor hit the side of the
02:13car pretty good.
02:13I would say we're probably 60 miles per hour right now, just based on just kind of getting around a
02:20little bit south just to keep ourselves clear.
02:29Around in the hook and then you start seeing, you know, 80 mile an hour wind driven falls that come
02:34in.
02:35So definitely don't want to mess with that. So we're going to we're going to pull out.
02:38We're going to get flipped around up here at the next Huey and we'll let the storm pass in front
02:42of us.
02:43Kirksville, I would imagine right now, you were probably dealing with some big hail coming into town.
