Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan has issued one of his strongest warnings yet against Israel, declaring that Israeli military actions in Syria and Lebanon now pose a direct threat to Turkey itself. Erdogan accused Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's government of destabilising the Middle East, Africa, and the Eastern Mediterranean, while warning that Ankara will respond strongly if Turkish interests or the rights of Turkish Cypriots are violated. The remarks have fueled fears of a wider regional confrontation involving Turkey, Israel, Iran, and other regional powers.

00:00Get back, get back, get back, get back!
00:20Turkey just raised the temperature in a way that no one in Brussels, Washington, or Tel Aviv can afford to
00:28ignore tonight.
00:28President Recep Erdogan stood before his ruling party in Parliament and said something that shifts the entire geometry of this
00:38conflict.
00:39He said Israel's attacks on Syria and Lebanon have now reached a point where they directly threaten Turkey.
00:47Not a neighboring country, not a regional partner.
00:51Turkey, a NATO member, a country with the second largest army in the entire alliance.
00:57And Erdogan did not stop at a warning.
01:01He named Netanyahu personally, calling him and his circle a network of murder.
01:07And he said that Ankara's security is now directly tied to the security of Lebanon and Syria.
01:13Read that again slowly.
01:16Because what Erdogan just did is draw Turkey's red line inside someone else's borders.
01:23He is saying that what happens in Damascus and Beirut happens to Ankara too.
01:29And if you keep hitting those countries, you are hitting Turkey.
01:33That is not just rhetoric.
01:35That is a doctrine.
01:36But Erdogan went even further.
01:39And this is the part that did not get nearly enough attention.
01:42He accused Israel of running what he called a sneaky effort to destabilize African nations and the Mediterranean.
01:50And specifically, he pointed to Cyprus, the ethnically divided island that sits at the crossroads of European and Middle Eastern
01:58influence.
01:59He said small entities whose ambitions far exceed their size have boarded Israel's boat of mischief and taken on the
02:07role of Zionist subcontractors in the Eastern Mediterranean.
02:11Those are extraordinarily sharp words from a sitting head of state.
02:16And then came the warning that everyone in the region needs to hear.
02:20Erdogan said clearly, if the rights of Turkey and Turkish Cypriots are violated in the Eastern Mediterranean, our response will
02:29be very clear and very strong.
02:31Turkey and Cyprus have one of the most combustible territorial disputes in the region.
02:36Energy exploration rights, maritime boundaries, decades of unresolved division.
02:42And now Erdogan is linking that dispute directly to Israel's expanding military footprint.
02:49That is a new and very dangerous connection.
02:52Erdogan also laid blame for how this entire war started.
02:57Turkey has blamed Israel's provocations for triggering the U.S.-Iran war.
03:01And he said Israel continues to be emboldened by one thing above all else, the silence of the international community.
03:10So his ask to the world was direct.
03:13He said pulling Israel back within the bounds of the rule of law has become a shared duty,
03:19not just for certain countries, but for all of humanity.
03:23So let's take stock of what just happened.
03:25A NATO member has publicly said it feels militarily threatened by Israel, has accused Israel of destabilization plots across two
03:34continents,
03:35has warned of a strong response in the Mediterranean, and has called on the entire world to act as a
03:42collective obligation.
03:43Turkey is not a small voice, it cannot be dismissed, and Erdogan just made sure that whatever happens next in
03:52this war,
03:52Turkey is no longer watching from the sidelines.
