00:00prompt and independent investigations into alleged violations of international humanitarian law and
00:07international human rights law must be conducted. This is why I have agreed with the government of
00:13Lebanon to conduct an impartial and independent assessment mission in the country. I will soon
00:21be deploying a team to collect information and evidence on alleged violations and abuses of
00:27international human rights law and violations of international humanitarian law and related law
00:31committed by the parties to the armed conflict in the country since the 2nd of March this year.
00:38It's the first time that we are sending this assessment mission and the idea is indeed to look
00:44at violations by all parties, violations of international humanitarian law, violations of
00:50international human rights law and to document this and eventually to report back to you on our findings
00:58and then they will be made available to the world. We are always very relieved when ceasefires are
01:04announced but ceasefires need to be respected in full. International law needs to be respected in full.
01:11international war for a very good reason was always constrained through the charter, through the UN charter and international law
01:20has provided protections for civilians, for civilian infrastructure but also for the environment.
01:26What I see at the moment very often is a flagrant violation of all these in all these wars that
