00:00so then they get to 16 and i don't think scotty i don't think he buried 15 if i recall
00:05um i don't
00:06know he definitely didn't um and so they get to 16 and hit that shot and he goes in the
00:10water
00:12and after it happened i was like he's about to lose it like it just had been building up you
00:16know and you just know when certain players are just gonna have to get it out and we just happened
00:22to stick with them all the way up to the green and into the drop zone and uh with a
00:27boom mic and
00:28hurt it all so um all right so what do i credit that to all right i think we all
00:33got to remember
00:33that scotty's got two kids now that's that's something you got to throw in there you got to
00:37throw in the tired bug uh is an excuse for for a player to not keep his composure and um
00:44you know
00:44handle his emotions better 100 like scotty knows he needs to act better and uh he's always struggled
00:49with his emotions at times and i think uh when you're hitting good shots and ending up in bad
00:55places but then also feeling like at times throughout the day where you're kind of fighting
00:59your golf swing a little bit uh which scotty definitely was fighting a little bit of his
01:04golf swing this week which when we talk about scotty fighting a swing it's we're talking about
01:10like great to good right like i mean he still hits it good when when he's off he's just he's
01:16just been a
01:17little bit off and and so uh did we see some great stuff from him this week sure but like
01:22there's a
01:22reason why he was well the lead was a 12 runner and he finished at three or four it's like
01:26hey he's
01:27he's uh he's getting beat by some guys right now yeah it's an interesting one i think in just the
01:32evolution of you know player caddy dynamics and just pairings we've seen in the past i can remember
01:38thinking that the cameron young paul tessori partnership was going to be perfect when that
01:43initially happened and then he's with a guy now who a former wake forest teammate with that's actually
01:49the one that's taylor made and just you know and then part of that being the sort of mental psychology
01:53and the leaps that cam young's made in that department as well all that stuff i think is is
01:57is just interesting behind the scenes context for people i think a lot of like amateurs just don't
02:02understand what it's like to be a professional golfer how long the weeks are how long the day is out
02:06how
02:07hard the golf courses are and how frustrating it can be to to feel like you know i i'm so
02:13close to
02:14winning and i know we're talking about scotty in the citizens but it's not just scotty it's it's
02:18everyone most most professional golfers at some point you know have to have a talking to their
02:23caddy and like my favorite line was always you know especially if it was early in the day where
02:28we just can't get anything right it's like we are we gonna are we gonna do anything here today or
02:32we
02:32gonna show up today like just like honestly like waking him up waking me up trying to get just a
02:38little bit of turning our brain on to remember it's like we're playing professional golf yes this is
02:45hard and we need everybody's undivided attention to make sure that we get this right like you can't
02:50lollygag through the pj tour and and end up in the top 10 and play well so it's just so
02:56easy this is
02:56not like a 20 dollar two down auto press all right we're not gonna go sit here in the grill
03:01that that's
03:01like could be a hundred thousand dollars or more that that you're losing when you make a bad shot
03:06it's a lot of pressure i get it that people say you know what that's like that should never happen
03:10and i i understand that side of it but i also think that have you ever played professional
03:15sports do you know what it's like being a professional athlete and and how hard and
03:19difficult it can be to control your emotions i i struggle with it immensely um you know i i pulled
03:25the all like yelled the f word in my shirt as well as i could thinking that it would mute
03:29it all you
03:29know like there's it's just like a bubble that you need to pop you know i i'm just so i
03:34was so
03:35competitively driven and scotty's the same way and you just gosh it's so hard sometimes and
03:40controlling your emotions can be the most difficult thing in the world and i think for somebody like
03:46scotty who's got cameras on him at all times he knows that john roms you know he also is a
03:51player
03:51that struggles big time with that and uh and they always have these mics in their face cameras on them
03:57i didn't have that problem so uh but i still you know at the end of the day my wife
04:02would be like
04:02to act better i'm like i know i know but i'm sucking right now it's hard it's hard easier said
04:09than done uh well that that that's helpful context for for people who who could use a little bit of
04:14a
04:14behind the scenes look at what that's why the wins are so great like when you see the emotion from
04:18jt
04:18posen and like and you see him hit those iron shots uh in the playoff and then the regulation on
04:2318
04:24and like thinking about like the bad start that he had today he's like oh boy you know here we
04:28go again
04:29you know he's two over par through 12 holes or whatever he was out of the golf tournament or not
04:34out of the he's one back but still like he had four shot lead to start the day and it's
04:38right back
04:39into like you know you know his caddy's thinking that it's like gosh are we are we about to finish
04:44like t8 now like how how did how is this happening like we have a fortune and then and then
04:49he shows up
04:50and hits the shots that he's been training for his entire life that's that's professional sports
04:54and what all just happened out there and not giving up and that's why that's why you see all
04:59that emotion at 18 green
