00:00I worked hard as Mayor of Greater Manchester to take a place-first approach, not a party-first approach.
00:05I think the public are crying out for a different approach to politics that's more about problem-solving rather than
00:13point-scoring.
00:14So I'm going to try to lay that out.
00:17The key thing, of course, is helping people with the cost of living.
00:20You know, it's just got too hard.
00:22People are paying too much for the basic things in life.
00:26And we've got to find ways of taking that pressure off them.
00:30You know, I heard on the doorsteps in Makerfield, oh, you know what, Andy, I can't go out for a
00:34few pints anymore.
00:35I can't take the kids out.
00:37I can't go on holiday.
00:38You know, some of the things that just brought that bit of extra joy to people's lives have kind of
00:43disappeared.
00:44And we just need to work, I think, to try and bring a bit of a lift to people, a
00:50greater sense of hope back and a feeling that the country,
00:53if not everything being right right now, is on a path to a better place.
00:57And I will do whatever I can.
01:00I'll give it my all to see if I can bring that about.
01:02Let's go.
01:03Let's go.
