00:27brain of rats very tiny wires that are thinner than a hair and with that we can capture the neural
00:36activity of different brain regions at the same time together with different metrics of behavior
00:44he says that psychedelics are now being used frequently in certain human therapies but
00:48little is actually known about why they're helpful in those scenarios with the researchers saying at
00:52the moment the experiment is simple just measuring the rats spontaneous behaviors and activities
00:57they've been doing this for seven years and they have now discovered a synchronization in
01:01several key areas of the brain and pal hallia another researcher working on the project says
01:06this could indicate the drugs are messing with normal brain communication channels a process
01:11which could provide insight into mental conditions we urgently need a better understanding of how
01:16consciousness is generated yeah but right now we we only know that it is generated in our brains and
01:21we don't know if it can even be regenerated if it if it was if it will occur spontaneously in
01:27other
01:28intelligent systems or or if you actively have to kind of design it they said this could also be
01:33valuable data with regards to the next generation of artificial intelligence
