00:00So why hasn't the homeless encampment near the intrepid been cleared, especially after this new policy that there's supposed to
00:07be after seven days?
00:08So I want to first just go over what our administration's focus is.
00:11We are focused on connecting New Yorkers to shelter and on establishing a pipeline to stable housing, not just moving
00:17New Yorkers from one place to another place.
00:19And so we made it very clear at the beginning of this year that our approach was going to be
00:25one where we would have DHS outreach teams lead the work of conducting daily outreach to homeless New Yorkers who
00:33were living in an encampment following the notice of that encampment scene.
00:37So those would be a full week's worth of daily engagements and outreach once that notice was provided.
00:43And the goal of that outreach is to ensure that we're building trust, that we're actually able to connect those
00:48New Yorkers with services, and that we can connect them with any other things that they need, whether it be
00:53medical care or whether it be housing support.
00:55And then by the seventh day, the notice, following the notice, the encampment will be cleared.
01:00And to the specific encampment that you brought up, we're going to look into that.
