00:36and would have been the second consecutive night of U.S. attacks despite the fragile truce.
00:42His hinting at a deal has been a recurring strategy,
00:45in the past two weeks utilized on at least three different occasions,
00:48with the latest on Tuesday where he had claimed advanced talks are two to three days away from producing a
00:54deal.
00:54Trump says the naval blockade imposed on all Iranian ports will remain in place,
01:00which the administration has previously claimed without providing evidence
01:03that it's costing the Iranian economy around $500 million a day in losses.
01:09It's not yet clear what the U.S. is pursuing in a deal,
01:12as Trump's latest remarks have indicated that Washington is looking to secure control of Iran's energy infrastructure,
01:18like they did with Venezuela, and are no longer seeking a nuclear-only arrangement.
01:24The Iranians, on the other hand, have remained firm in their position,
01:28with their demand still being developing civilian-purpose nuclear projects,
01:32unfreezing internationally blocked assets,
01:35full U.S. regional withdrawal, and a permanent truce in Lebanon.
