00:24The university said it had informed affected students and alumni directly, adding that it would provide timely updates as well
00:33as guidance and support to those impacted as more information becomes available.
00:37The statement comes amid reports that hackers from a well-known cyber criminal group accessed a significant amount of personal
00:45student data held by the University of Nottingham.
00:48On June 10th, the Nottingham Post reported that the data breached by a group of notorious cyber criminals, the Shiny
00:55Hunters, was detected the day before.
00:58Shiny Hunters listed the university on its leaked site, claiming it had compromised more than 40 gigabytes of data, including
01:06billing and payment records, student finance information, and administrative exports from the University of Nottingham and its campuses in Malaysia
01:15and China.
