00:00they continue to lead in terms of efficacy so z-bound has the better efficacy proven in a
00:07head-to-head trial versus uh we govi and they now have this drug called the retrotide or
00:14retatrotide as i like to call it and which is um a triple mechanisms of action and that
00:22is got blowout efficacy particularly obviously they tried it in people with
00:26a very high level of obesity where you can lose 30 of your body weight and and not be
00:34seriously suffering so again they have this mechanism of action that that this triple
00:41product that seems to be doing very well a whole bunch of other companies have reported
00:45and they still lead in the oral space astrosanica has some good data and that looks good that looks
00:52competitive and they're moving to phase three they have other plans for that space so lily still
00:57really is is is in the in the lead here in terms of efficacy particularly how much do consumers
01:05patients care about efficacy i mean all of these drug makers have treatments that are effective but
01:11are they making the distinction between 27 versus 30 percent it's very good question uh scarlett that
01:19the the interesting thing here is that you are coming and i'm sure you have across more and more
01:26people who talk about micro dosing right so they lose the desired amount of weight that they want
01:33and then they just want to keep it at bay so they go into a lower dose that i don't
01:37even know how they
01:38calculate that their physician maybe helps them calculate it it gets rid of some of the side effect
01:43profiles so really this these big numbers and you know and i've said this before and although the
01:50answer to your question was lily leads one efficacy but when you think about it does it matter for me
01:56if
01:57i'm i don't know 95 kilos and i lose 10 kilos over the space of six months whether that was
02:0512 or 8
02:07i'm still losing quite a lot of weight and and getting into shape and then allowing me to do everything
02:12else that i need to do so i agree with you it's not as important and the market's telling us
02:17that
02:17except zip bound is the best drug out there so sam was quoting weight and kilos like we know what
02:23a kilo is but at least he didn't go stone on us like i lost the supply by 2.2
02:282.2 to get to pounds
02:30eli lily in 2022 had 28 billion dollars of revenue you guys out there on wall street are projecting 85
02:37billion this year where did that 60 billion of revenue come from it's majority of it is obesity
02:45wow so you know i mean this has been a great company for a long time as because how do
02:51we measure
02:52pharma companies their growth profile their earnings profile their margin evolution but also their pipeline
02:58right and so they've hit the jackpot today and i'll tell you what paul they're out there
03:04deal after deal we talked about it last week i think the amazonification of being a pharma company
03:09do everything right they go after infectious diseases everything they can get their hands on
03:15and just to you know feather that nest so and we've had another deal in the sector right yes i
03:23wonder to
03:23what extent eli lily going out there and being and doing this from a position of strength means that they're
03:28um setting new benchmarks and overpaying and forcing everyone else to overpay maybe they're not
03:33overpaying but i i defer to you on that but they certainly have bigger firepower right i mean you
03:39know my checkbook's bigger than your checkbook is the kind of situation i think they're in but i think
03:44they're very disciplined i think you sometimes look at things you go wow that's a big number for a
03:49for a deal of this size at this stage of development but then what do you find after six months
03:53nine months 12 months of course drugs fail there's issues that happen but we just had been looking at
03:58one called colonia that they've done and the data is looking really good it's a totally novel way of
04:03treating um cancers using uh what we call in vivo car t that's not going into the detail but totally
04:10novel way and at the time they did the deal scratching a little bit they must know something
04:15and of course as the data has come out yes they did know something some of that data is looking
04:19better so
04:21you know i think pharma companies have to think strategically too it's not just about a
04:25multiple today or an npv analysis does this really give me a great portfolio to go and
04:32make a difference in this disease and be heard by physicians
