00:00All right. So, you know what? I always say this. I love to see athletes getting involved in sports broadcasting.
00:07I encourage it all the time. When guys want to go into broadcasting, I get guys asking me all the
00:12time, Dan, how'd you get involved in it? And it's quite a journey on how you get involved.
00:17Well, maybe the most disliked human being in the history of pro football is now going to CBS, and his
00:25name is Russell Wilson. You're going to have to explain this to me on where CBS gets and where, again,
00:32CBS thought that this was in the best interest to put one of the most disliked human beings in the
00:37history of the National Football League on the tube.
00:40He wasn't liked in Seattle, and he clearly was not liked when he was in Denver, and he was clearly
00:48not liked when he was with the New York Giants. I'm trying to figure out where CBS saw where America
00:55would relate to this guy when he's never really related to anybody that he's ever played with.
01:02This has all been about Russell Wilson. He's not really a guy who is a guy that really translated with
01:09his teammates. His teammates constantly talk about, it's Russ's way or no way. The teammates in Seattle complained about him,
01:18and then the people in Denver even said he had an office. He didn't really like to be around his
01:23teammates. He didn't really like to engage with his teammates.
01:26And now he's going to be an anchor and on the desk at CBS. Super Bowl champion Russell Wilson is
01:35finding his deal, becoming a CBS sports analyst. Per Adam Schefter here, the 10-time pro bowler, previously confirmed he
01:44received an offer to play for the Jets, but instead has chosen to be a TV star.
01:51I'll tell you what, I do dig his wife. But as for him, I gotta tell you, man, this guy
01:58is not a relatable guy. You know, there's certain dudes, like, look at Jason Kelsey. Jason Kelsey is relatable. Travis
02:07Kelsey is not. I mean, pretty soon, Travis Swift is gonna be there sitting next to his wife. We're gonna
02:15see him, I guarantee you, Monday night at Madison Square Garden.
02:18By the way, they're gonna get married at Madison Square Garden. He's gonna change his name officially to Travis Swift.
02:25He's no longer gonna be Travis Kelsey. That guy doesn't translate with people.
02:29They don't understand, again, have anything in common with a guy like that, and that is who Russell Wilson is
02:36as well.
02:37Russell Wilson was one of the most disliked guys in pro football history, and now CBS is putting him on
02:43TV, trying to break down games.
02:46I mean, look, I saw this a couple weeks ago, and I was like, this guy's gonna go to CBS,
02:51and it'll be a situation where, again, he'll be one of the most disliked people, giving you his takes on
02:57being a teammate.
02:59How would he know what being a teammate was about when no team that he played for liked him?
03:06No matter what team it was. Even when he was at NC State, they didn't like him. What did the
03:12coach tell him? They gave his position away.
03:15Look, a great football player, but even at NC State, they gave his job away to a guy who would
03:23end up being a benchwarmer in the National Football League.
03:26He transfers to Wisconsin. No one likes him at Wisconsin. There's been no place he's played at, where you hear
03:35teammates talking fondly about playing with Russell Wilson.
03:38Name me a place where Russell Wilson has played, where you heard a teammate come out and say, that's the
03:45guy that was the engine to our success.
03:47Let's face it, the guy who was the engine in Seattle was Marshawn Lynch. He was the guy that was
03:54the needle mover on that football team.
03:57After Marshawn Lynch left for the Raiders and ended up retiring, that football team was never the same. He was
04:05the catalyst in that huddle.
04:06He was the guy that should have been given the ball there at the goal line.
04:11This whole thing with Russell Wilson and his career comes down to that one yard.
04:17He wanted to be the MVP of that game.
04:21Instead, he throws the pick to Malcolm Butler.
04:25Instead of turning around and doing the thing that had been killing the Patriots in that Super Bowl,
04:30the entire time, turn, hand off, Marshawn Lynch, touchdown, Seattle goes back to back.
04:39But he wanted the glory and he wanted to be the MVP and he wanted to be the centerpiece on
04:45that team.
04:45And he never was the centerpiece on that team.
04:48It was the Legion of Boom and it was Marshawn Lynch.
04:52And now we're going to sit here and have him forced down our throat like Stephen A. Smith over at
04:59ESPN.
05:00Now we got another guy being forced down our throat on CBS, on the NFL, on CBS.
05:08I'll tell you, I mean, to me, sometimes some of these hires, when they put people in front of a
05:13camera, I get it.
05:15I mean, you got to at least resonate with people.
05:17He didn't even resonate with his own team.
05:20Now he's going to be a desk analyst at CBS.
05:22Now he's going to be a desk analyst at CBS.
05:22Now he's going to be a desk analyst at CBS.
05:22Now he's going to be a desk analyst at CBS.
05:22Now he's going to be a desk analyst at CBS.
05:23Now he's going to be a desk analyst at CBS.
