00:00Well, we do have activity officially on the map in the East Pacific now.
00:04Tropical storm Amanda has formed this Wednesday, and we're going to continue to track this system west.
00:09It will encounter a wall of wind shear.
00:12The deep purple here just to the west of the current location will lead to its demise after a few
00:18more days,
00:19and it will not directly impact land.
00:22The water's warm, though, across most of the Pacific, especially warm to the south along the equator due to this
00:28El Nino strengthening.
00:30Beyond Amanda to the east, there's another zone just barely south and southwest of Central America with an enhanced area
00:37of convection.
00:37We expect that to also become at least a tropical depression and probably our second named storm of the year.
00:44Whatever the second is, and that will likely be it, will become Barris in the next several days.
00:50Some of that next likely storm's moisture will likely drift north, perhaps into the western Caribbean or Gulf,
00:56and that's an area of concern into mid-month.
