00:00Trump said, Oman will behave just like everybody else,
00:04for we will have to blow them up.
00:06Are you guys back there in the West Wing making plans for a new war with Oman?
00:11Again, I think the president wanted to punctuate freedom of navigation in the strait.
00:17I had a call with the Omani ambassador this morning,
00:20and he assured me that there were no plans for tolling the strait.
00:25As he said, our countries have had 200 years of good relations.
00:28He wants to have another 200 more.
00:30And I told him that this was a non-starter,
00:34and he did not want to risk either the Omani individuals
00:38or Omani financial institutions getting sanctioned.
00:42Dr. Buck, I'll make sanctions.
00:43Yes, please.
00:45Thank you, Mr. Secretary.
00:46Is it in the U.S. interest to waive some sanctions on Iran
00:50or to unfreeze some of their assets
00:52before Iran has made concrete promises
00:56about getting rid of their nuclear program?
00:59Mr. Again, I'm not going to preview the deal,
01:01but I would think that things would go very slowly in terms of that.
01:08So we'll see.
01:12Just to follow up on that,
01:13because it's our understanding that the U.S. has committed
01:15to discussing the matter of sanctions relief
01:17during this negotiation period.
01:19So just to be clear,
01:20is sanctions relief for Iran on the table?
01:23Again, it is a multifaceted agreement,
01:27and nothing is going to be on the table
01:30until we see the Strait of Ramones open
01:32and the Iranians agree
01:35that they have to turn over the highly enriched uranium
01:41and that they can't have a nuclear program.
01:43And to be clear here,
01:45that this administration, President Trump,
01:48has done something
01:49that no other administration is able to do.
01:51We have gotten the Iranians
01:53to talk about their nuclear program
01:55and to perhaps commit to not having one.
01:58That has never happened before.
01:59It had been off the table.
02:01So I think when you look at the results
02:03of the kinetic action of our economic pressure,
02:06it has worked to bring them to the table
02:08and have a discussion on this.
