00:00Yesterday we discussed, Craig and I discussed the charges or what we thought were going to be the charges against
00:05Josh Jacobs.
00:06He was arrested for domestic violence and at the time we were recording the show or doing the show live
00:11yesterday,
00:12there was a whole list of charges that appeared he was going to be charged with three misdemeanors and one
00:17felony that included the word strangulation.
00:20Well as you can see on your screen now, Josh Jacobs has been released with no charges whatsoever.
00:26So again, we don't know. They still obviously can press charges and this may not go away,
00:34but there is a chance now since Josh Jacobs was brought in and released with no charges that this could
00:41be the end of that story.
00:44And again, we've seen it just recently, you know, in the NFL where sometimes these things have legs and sometimes
00:53these things don't.
00:54Now to Josh Jacobs, his attorneys also released the statement and we can put on the screen there as you
01:02can see.
01:02And they're just basically saying they're very happy that Josh Jacobs was released without any charges.
01:07And they were saying that it would be clear that that he's innocent.
01:11That's what his attorneys are supposed to say.
01:13We also now have some more information about what led to the arrest.
01:18So apparently, allegedly, again, this is all alleged, but we'll get to a larger point in just a moment.
01:24What happened allegedly was Josh Jacobs drove in his car to the particular person or the alleged victim's home.
01:33There was an altercation loud enough for a neighbor and for the assailant to both call the police.
01:40Now, that could be because of volume, that could be for a lot of things.
01:44And then he allegedly fled the scene in his fancy car and then they brought it all the way to
01:51here.
01:51So again, he was arrested but was not charged.
01:56So again, this could all just go away.
01:58Everything is alleged.
02:00But whatever did happen was loud enough for both the alleged victim and a neighbor who was not in the
02:08home with them to both call the police.
02:12Fine.
02:13And that's where we're at.
02:15But this is the part that really bothers me about these kind of situations.
02:20Because in a perfect world, they never happen.
02:24And I still hope this Josh Jacobs did not do anything because it's better for a man, especially a big,
02:32strong NFL football player, to not have hit or strangled a woman 100% of the time.
02:38And if this person made some sort of false allegation, if the allegation is false, then whatever punishment that she
02:45should get, I hope she does get.
02:47I want to make that part very clear.
02:49And again, I'm going to say this, if there are marks on her throat, that would be enough for me
02:55to say, well, Josh Jacobs shouldn't automatically go to prison because I'm not a DA and I don't make these
03:00decisions.
03:00It wouldn't sit right with me to have a man who did that playing in the NFL.
03:05I just want to make that clear.
03:06I also don't want an innocent person in prison because that would be awful as well.
03:11I think we can have common sense about this conversation.
03:14But what I'm seeing online, and I know it's a mistake almost always to look online, I hate to see
03:21how the alleged victim is already being destroyed, mainly by Packers fans.
03:27Because this is what I hear.
03:28I'm an East Coast guy.
03:30You know, most of my time I've spent Philly, New York, but I've been up to Boston, D.C., East
03:37Coast sports.
03:38This is kind of the mentality that we have where it's when it all costs and things like that.
03:42I understand that mentality.
03:44But I've been told that Green Bay Packers fans, I got green on today, are gentle and it's just that
03:49nice Midwest thing.
03:51And look, if you go to Lambeau, you can park in somebody's lawn and you pay them and they'll cook
03:56food for you.
03:57They're so nice.
03:58The Packers fans, Packers nation is so kind.
04:01Look what they do when they have the draft.
04:03They're so nice people.
04:05Yet they are destroying this woman.
04:08Destroying them before we know anything.
04:10Because, again, it could go either way.
04:12Okay?
04:13A neighbor was concerned enough to call the cops.
04:15At the same time, the police didn't press charges.
04:17So I recognize that there's a wide range of what could have happened in this case.
04:22But what bothers me is when we don't use common sense.
04:26Okay?
04:27We know there are times when people aren't charged because they're still getting evidence.
04:33There's times where a person can recant this story.
04:36There's a lot of things that would delay someone being charged, and we don't know the answer yet.
04:42But if Green Bay Packers fans are as sweet and nice and kind as they say they are,
04:48why are they already trying to destroy the victim or the alleged victim before we actually know anything?
04:56And this is something that troubles me about pro sports for a long time.
05:01It's troubled me about it.
05:02And this is why I hate when pro athletes even, and most, the vast majority never get in these situations.
05:08Derek Jeter was around New York City for 100 years.
05:11Not a single allegation like this.
05:13And the vast majority of athletes, that's the same thing.
05:17But the troubling thing for me is because we want our teams to win, I think all of us at
05:24different times to varying degrees take it too far.
05:27And taking it too far to me is always the problem.
05:31Okay?
05:31Let's say it was just a disagreement.
05:34There was an argument.
05:35Things were said or whatever.
05:36Of course, then Josh Jacobs shouldn't go to prison.
05:40But before we know, why are we so comfortable?
05:44Why are we just so comfortable perhaps ending a young woman's life and trying to make it to where she
05:50can't be seen in public?
05:52Before we know the answer, do we want to win that badly?
05:56Do we want to win that badly to where even if the person may have done something terrible, we want
06:04to almost discourage, really at the end of the day, we're trying to discourage accusations so that our players can
06:11play on Sunday or can play that next day.
06:13And that's the part of it that always doesn't sit right with me when it's these pro athletes.
06:18Because be honest with yourself, if that was your son, okay, if that was your son and you're a father
06:25and your son was even accused of that, you very well, you would absolutely support your son and you love
06:31your son.
06:31But I know for a fact that my dad would pull me to the side and say, okay, why are
06:36you around somebody where they're even making this accusation?
06:40Did you do anything that was in there to perhaps cause this?
06:44And instead, there's such a pendulum the other way where it's like that person has to be exterminated because how
06:51dare they affect our football Sundays?
06:54That's the part where I think we all go too far.
