00:00wanted to say something real quick here about the enhanced games from yesterday yeah uh not your
00:05fault but uh i think we need to view the enhanced games a little bit differently than we originally
00:12did okay if i may okay because i was thinking about it last night and i went and i took
00:17a look
00:18at all the competitors i've never heard of any of them so i'm not claiming that anyone should have
00:21known who they are because i never heard of any of them i heard the weightlifters but i think
00:25we viewed it yesterday as if well it's a major letdown and disappointment they didn't break world
00:31records they were supposed to be better because they were doing steroids and then it dawned on me
00:37that they did do better from this standpoint okay the average age of the competitors in this
00:43enhanced games that are doing the drugs was in their mid to late 30s okay they're not 25 year old
00:49olympic athletes in their prime these are athletes that are past their prime and despite being past
00:55their prime they came pretty damn close to equaling or besting a lot of records in the specific events
01:03they chose so i have a list here i wrote down so give me a second or so emily barkley
01:09again i never
01:09heard of her yeah she's the 50 meter freestyle swimmer okay all right she is now 30 years old okay
01:16as a 30 year old the time that she uh did in the enhanced games would have won the bronze
01:21medal
01:22in the 2024 olympics she shaved two seconds off her best olympic time from eight years ago by doing
01:30steroids okay okay um marius kush personal best at 33 years old cody miller personal best 34 years old
01:39and i can go on and on and on yeah so the way i'm thinking about it now and i
01:43think the mistake
01:44that the organizers of the enhanced games made was tying success to breaking records today i think the
01:54success of the games is that athletes in their 30s into their mid 30s were able to compete and beat
02:04their best times from their 20s and also compete within fractions of seconds against you know world
02:11class athletes in their prime and some of the records that have stood the test of time so again
02:17not your fault not my fault because i think we had an expectation that wow you give me a weightlifter
02:23and put him on steroids he's gonna outlift the gym but i think when you look at it through the
02:29lens of
02:30look what this guy did at 35 years old compared to what he did at 22 years old
02:38and compared to what the all-time great numbers are i think it's actually quite impressive now
02:45i'm not saying that saves the games i'm not saying anybody gives a rat's ass about it but i was
02:50talking
02:50to lucky about it last night and he's like dad if a 38 year old yeah came within five tenths
02:57of a second
02:58of the all-time greatest uh score or you know bested his own personal best in an olympic games when
03:06he or she
03:07was in his 20s that's pretty impressive yeah but what you just laid out though is a reason why
03:13certain athletes should do steroids not why i should watch it and the reason i say is this i'm not
03:18saying
03:18you should watch no no no what i'm saying is what i would watch it if those guys the reason
03:22the records
03:22were important for me was i wanted to see things i couldn't see literally while those times the things
03:28you laid out were true the ncaa track thing has been happening recently they the ncaa track and all
03:34those guys have been happening recently like the ncaa college people okay these are the 18 to 22 year
03:39olds right they're running times faster than those people therefore if i'm just watching running yeah
03:46they were slower than those people ultimately what you just laid out to watch the enhanced games would
03:52be a reason to watch for example the wnba versus the nba we watch the nba because the game's fast
03:57and we
03:58all these things right if it's going to be slower but hey there and we're going to put in these
04:02caveats they're older than this and that well wnba's basketball but because it's slower and a lot of
04:07people think it's underwater they don't watch it yeah i don't like that comparison to me it's the same
04:11i would say that for example if i here's what what it's never going to happen i'd like to see
04:17happen
04:18i want to see a 22 year old olympian on steroids and see in the prime right of their athletic
04:25capabilities what those numbers are i agree and if clearly the steroids has helped it helped but
04:31but the thing is it helped but it was still slower than the beach the regular one so again i
04:37don't
04:37know who this woman is yeah megan romano yeah 50 meter freestyle all right uh the personal best at 35
04:44years old beat a 13 year old record i guess her own record when she was 23 years old so
04:51obviously the
04:52point that would be made if megan romano did steroids at 23 oh my god what would her time have
04:59been right well what does it have what her actual time was um does it have it there new personal
05:04best
05:0524.55 right old personal best 24.98 right but if i just real quick she did her original personal
05:14best
05:14at 22 years old she now has her overall best at 35 years old
05:20right
