00:00We have to thank Main Street Bank for sponsoring our trip down to Dewey.
00:04We need to thank Surfside, all the sponsors that made that trip possible.
00:08Home run trip.
00:09All the listeners that came out in force starting at 6 a.m.
00:13And before that, lining up to get into the starboard on Friday morning.
00:17I mean, looking back on it.
00:18Huge show.
00:20Just a home run all the way around.
00:22Thursday night was awesome.
00:23Yeah.
00:23So Thursday night, huge turnout.
00:26Gary Williams was there, which was a thrill.
00:28Mm-hmm.
00:29I have to say, I was really worried about the turnout with the weather, and it turned
00:32out great.
00:33I can only imagine what it'd be with spectacular weather, but it turned out great.
00:38It was a great weekend for Monty overall, because he was texting Cakes and I videos of the outside
00:44of the starboard all weekend, and there was just lines that looked like 100 deep.
00:48And now I pretty much know why Monty sounds the way he sounds, because we were in Dewey
00:53for varying amounts of time.
00:5654 hours.
00:5736, 54, however many hours it was, and my voice is still pummeled.
01:02Yeah, my voice is shot.
01:03He's down there every day in those trenches.
01:05Yeah, you get it.
01:06It's so loud in there.
01:06His voice is never going to get better.
01:08It's just so many people.
01:10He's the best.
01:10He's amazing.
01:11He's great.
01:11He's such a chill guy.
01:12I know.
01:13He's awesome.
01:13I know we'll get to it, but I mean, at one point, Marr's badgering him, badgering him.
01:18Pull up, pull up.
01:18Where are you?
01:19Where are you?
01:19Where are you?
01:20We might as well get to it now.
01:21I have the text exchange.
01:22So Monty sent us the text from Mike Marr.
01:25Yeah.
01:25And this was Friday night.
01:27Yes.
01:28So I had to come back.
01:30Cake says he ended up coming back.
01:32But on Friday night, he did send a complimentary text.
01:36I will say to preface it and said that the MVPs were Mike Marr and Valdez.
01:43He said they made it to last call.
01:45That's impressive.
01:46On Friday night?
01:47Here's Monty.
01:47As you'd expect, Mike was a mess.
01:50And Valdez was holding it all together just fine.
01:53Nice job.
01:54Well done.
01:55He said you'll get a kick out of Marr's nonstop texting me after midnight to get in the cooler.
02:01Then a bar back grabbed me and says, I think your boys from the junkies are in the cooler.
02:07So the photo blow is what I walked in and found at about 1230 a.m.
02:11But here's the text exchange.
02:13In Marr's defense, I will say, in Marr's defense, it was so crowded.
02:17It was shoulder to shoulder on Friday night.
02:21I went there Friday night and had one drink and we all left.
02:23It was too crowded.
02:24You couldn't get to the bar.
02:26You couldn't move.
02:27You were stuck.
02:29And the only way to get to a bartender or move around is if you just started pushing people.
02:35It was also a totally different crowd.
02:37It was like 28 to 21.
02:39Or a lot younger.
02:41That was happening on Thursday night as we were filtering it out.
02:44You saw more and more of that younger crowd.
02:46I've never seen so many young people.
02:48So I told Marr, I said, dude, this is impossible.
02:53We're going to use the junks card.
02:55We're going to the cooler because the bars are so slammed.
02:59And I said, just tell Monty.
03:01Make sure it's okay with Monty.
03:02Because I didn't want to go back there and do all that.
03:05So it's mainly on me, not Marr.
03:08Okay, but here's the text.
03:10It was my last resort.
03:11I had to do it.
03:12Understood.
03:13And now you understand why I did it years ago when you said JP used to just walk right
03:17into the cooler.
03:19Mike writes, walking in now.
03:22Then later.
03:23Just got in.
03:23Where you at?
03:24Later on.
03:25Just got here.
03:27Where you at?
03:28I mean, he's badgering him.
03:29Monty finally responds.
03:30Says, I'm all over.
03:31Won't find me in that packed crowd.
03:33Ha.
03:34Yeah.
03:35Then Mike Marr responds.
03:36Let's meet at the cooler.
03:38Where are you?
03:39Just got to the starboard.
03:40Howard just got in.
03:44Cooler?
03:45I'm with Valdez.
03:47You going to pull up soon?
03:49Did Monty ever show up or just the bar back?
03:51No, no, no.
03:52Monty finally came.
03:53But I felt bad because we were going in and the bar backs and the staff were just letting
03:59us in.
04:00But you feel dirty if Monty's not there with you.
04:04Yeah, it's a little weird.
04:06It's a little weird.
04:07You feel like you're stealing.
04:07Yes, exactly.
04:08You feel dirty.
04:09It's not right.
04:09Even after a thousand crushes, you still feel weird doing that.
04:15Even though I know he wouldn't have a problem with it.
04:17I mean, he's just making money hand over fist right there.
04:19He's such a chill guy.
04:20That's what I can't get over.
04:22It's just sort of how relaxed he can kind of go with the flow at all.
04:26I mean, maybe that's just how he presents to us, but I just kind of think that's how
04:30he is.
04:30He never seems like flustered.
04:31He never seems flustered.
04:33Ever.
04:34Very chill.
04:35Nothing phases him.
04:36Let the guys have whatever they want.
04:37Whatever they want.
04:38No big deal.
04:39I mean, it's just unbelievable.
04:40I couldn't believe the lines to get in there when we were doing the show.
04:44You should have seen it later.
04:46But I didn't see it.
04:47You should have seen it later.
04:48I only stayed there a couple hours after the show, but it was crazy.
04:51You should have seen it late night.
04:52Late night.
04:53Oh, I'm sure.
04:54When the weather gets like that, all people have to do is go hang out at the bars.
04:58Oh, yeah.
04:58It's like no beach time for the drunkards.
05:00Nobody's at the beach.
05:00Nobody's playing golf.
05:01Nobody's doing it.
05:02Nobody's walking around.
05:03There's only one thing to do.
05:04There's one thing to do.
05:05One thing.
05:05Go to the starboard.
05:06Correct.
05:07And hang out.
05:07And that's exactly what everybody was doing.
05:09Monty hooked us big time because at like 1030, we were at Rusty Rudder.
05:12And I got a call from a friend who was at Starbird.
05:15And she was like, yo, it just took me like two hours to get in.
05:18The line is like all the way to Starbird Raw.
05:20Right.
05:21So I called Monty.
05:22And on the phone, he was like, all right, I'm going to radio to someone.
05:25Get your name on a list.
05:26So as soon as you just bypass that entire line.
05:29Wow.
05:29So we went right from Rudder to Starbird.
05:31No wait.
05:32Nothing got in.
05:32Well, we were Friday night.
05:34We went.
05:34We.
05:35So, you know, Friday, we do the show.
05:37Everything.
05:37It's chaos.
05:38Meet everybody.
05:39I don't know how many pictures we all took.
05:41I took a hundred pictures each.
05:42I think I talked to about a thousand people.
05:44But that's good.
05:45Of course.
05:45That's why we were there.
05:46And so I loved every second of it.
05:48Even when I was sitting down there trying to eat.
05:50My buddy Lucas at once said, you have patience of a saint.
05:53And I go, you know, these people came here to see us.
05:56Of course.
05:56You know, I got to embrace it.
05:57So we did.
05:58But later, went home, napped, and then got going again at five.
06:04And that's when we headed over to Starbird.
06:06And it was just absolute chaos.
06:09Absolute chaos.
06:10So we stayed for one drink.
06:11And then we headed over to Lighthouse.
06:13We were there for a while.
06:13And then we're going to go over to Rudder to meet Valdez and those guys.
06:17But the line outside Rudder was insane.
06:19I'm sure.
06:19It was insane.
06:20And thank God we just called it a night at that point.
06:22Right.
06:23Right.
06:23Because it could have been crazy.
06:24I would have been in a dumb cooler with those dummies.
06:26How much money those bartenders must be making.
06:28Oh.
06:29I was talking to one of the parents from my kid's soccer team.
06:34And she worked at the Lighthouse one summer.
06:37She said she's never made more money.
06:39Of course.
06:39I don't doubt it.
06:40I mean, drunks just signing tips on their credit cards.
06:43They don't even know what they're signing.
06:44Yeah.
06:45I couldn't believe how quick those bartenders were making drinks.
06:48They were unbelievable.
06:49Well, also, I will say the Super Lights were a smash.
06:53They were.
06:54That's what they're called, right?
06:54Super Light plus vodka.
06:56Yeah.
06:56Those things were unbelievable.
06:58Yeah.
06:58Because you could drink five of those and not even know it.
07:01Yeah.
07:01Hey, don't let Marv just brush past Rudder.
07:05Marv was making out with people on the dance floor.
07:07Wait, really?
07:09Multiple people?
07:10What's going on?
07:11What's going on?
07:11What's going on?
07:12I know there were some shenanigans going on in a pool.
07:15I saw that.
07:16I was getting texts from all these about that.
07:17When in Dewey Beach, you know what I mean?
07:19Right.
07:20Are you the king of Dewey?
07:21Oh, I'm the king of Dewey.
07:22Did you have any cigs left when you came home?
07:24Or did you smoke through the pack?
07:26No, no.
07:26There were a lot of cigs left over.
07:27Really?
07:28There was a lot of packs to begin with.
07:29Shocking.
07:29Hey, Marv's getting ready to get this girl topless in a pool at about 5 o'clock.
07:365 a.m. or p.m.?
07:37P.m.
07:38Wow.
07:38The world's worst pool.
07:40Hey, I got to say, in Dewey Beach, a lot of fun girls.
07:43Was that pool even open?
07:44It was open.
07:45I didn't see one soul in the pool.
07:46It was the coldest pool in the entire world.
07:49Oh, for sure.
07:50Hey, this girl, she had to have been straight from Delco.
07:53All right.
07:54What does Delco mean?
07:55It's a Philly suburb.
07:57It's the Dina of Philly.
07:59Oh, okay.
08:00All right.
08:01Just a hillbilly.
08:02Hillbilly.
08:03So at the motel, it's standard.
08:05You just leave the door open.
08:07So we're having the after party.
08:09Oh, is that just invite anybody who wants to just come into the room and just chill?
08:12Okay.
08:12You learn that in Beach Week.
08:14You just leave the door open.
08:15Open door policy.
08:16And then to our luxury hotel.
08:18So this girl walked by and asked if Mar or anyone had a lighter, they gave her a lighter, and
08:30then she came back to hand it back.
08:32And then she asked everyone if you want to go swimming.
08:35Right.
08:36Of course I want to go swimming.
08:38Right.
08:39I mean, yeah, at this point, it's like 4.30, 5 o'clock.
08:41You're a cannonball, Mike.
08:42Yeah.
08:42So we go down by the pool.
08:44And, you know, the water.
08:47So first she asked if anyone had a bathing suit.
08:50Okay.
08:51So of course the gentleman I am, I gave her my bathing suit.
08:54All right.
08:54Oh, she didn't have a bathing suit.
08:56No, she didn't have any trunks.
08:58She was hammered.
09:00Oh, she had to have been.
09:02She was having a good time.
09:03She was having a good time.
09:04Okay.
09:05The BACs were high.
09:07Yeah.
09:07So she, so she, like, takes the trunks.
09:12How old is she, by the way?
09:13Give me a picture.
09:14What does she look like?
09:15Oh, we can show you.
09:15Yeah, I'll show you a couple pictures.
09:17What's her age?
09:18I think she was like 29.
09:20Okay.
09:20All right.
09:21Mar, go in there and show them the Instagram.
09:24So she's been blowing me up ever since we left.
09:26Oh, really?
09:27Blowing me up.
09:27She's thirsty for Mike.
09:28She's trying to get me to go back to Dewey in a couple weeks, trying to get me to go
09:31to Philly.
09:31Oh, wow.
09:32It is a one-time show.
09:33You might never see me again.
09:35So she takes the swim trunks and she comes back to the motel.
09:38And then she comes back wearing the swim trunks.
09:41And you know there's, like, Calvin Klein sports bras.
09:45Yeah, yeah.
09:45So that's what she has on for her.
09:48It's way better than I imagined.
09:49Yeah.
09:50For her attire.
09:50I mean, it's like a 10 compared to what I imagined.
09:53You, Mike Marr.
09:54Yeah.
09:54Getting after it.
09:55Right?
09:55It's attractive.
09:56I can understand why all of a sudden you wanted to go swim in the cold pool.
10:00Very cute.
10:01I can understand that.
10:02So finally, they go down to the pool.
10:06And, like, she's dipping her toe in and she's saying how cold it is.
10:10Yeah.
10:10And it's starting to rain.
10:12It's just awful weather.
10:13And then finally she starts going.
10:15She's going, how much for me to do it topless?
10:18Mm-hmm.
10:19She brings it up.
10:20She's the first one to bring it up.
10:22Fun girl.
10:22Fun girl.
10:23Right.
10:23And so we start negotiating.
10:26We say, all right, we'll give you, like, if you touch each end like it's the enhanced
10:31games, then we'll-
10:33I don't even know what that is.
10:34The steroids Olympics.
10:35Oh, okay.
10:35So we'll throw some cash away.
10:38We'll give you, like, 40 bucks.
10:38And free drinks in the cooler at the Starbucks.
10:40So, and then she starts going.
10:41How much did you say?
10:4240 bucks.
10:42Oh, okay.
10:43And then we say, or she goes, well, how much to do it topless?
10:46And we say, well, $100.
10:50Are her friends there, or is it just her?
10:53Just her doing it.
10:54Her friend is, like, kind of looking onward from her hotel room.
10:58Mike, what was the room situation?
11:00Because if that stuff's happening and you're vibing, I'm trying to think.
11:03You were originally going to be sharing a room.
11:05What was the room situation for Friday evening?
11:08Oh, I would have just texted Clary and just been like, hey, like, I need you to go to-
11:11So you and Clary were sharing a room.
11:13Because originally they were going to take over my room, come to find out, once CK knew
11:20I wasn't staying, that room was only for one night.
11:24Okay, got it.
11:24Oh, they canceled it.
11:25Got it.
11:26But she ended up swimming, and then halfway, she gave the pump fake, like she was going
11:32to let the girls out.
11:34But she just swam, and then Mar got all siced when she came back in a towel to hand the
11:41bathing suit back.
11:42So she came back over in just a towel, handed the bathing suit back, and then finally she
11:47came back one more time to ask if Mar was going at, like, where he was going to be at.
11:53And then she looked, had her, like, hooker boots on and everything.
11:57She was looking good.
11:58She looked good.
11:58She looked good when she came back to the hotel room.
12:01And so I still had to shower.
12:02So I told her, I was like, why don't you just wait for me to shower?
12:05Like, I'll be there in a little bit.
12:06And she was like, no, like, me and my friend, like, we got to go to this bar.
12:09And I was like, well, damn, like, you know, you look really good.
12:11Like, I'm worried, like, someone else is going to come by and scoop you tonight.
12:14So then I said, I was like, if anyone comes up to you, you just tell them, daddy's on
12:20the way.
12:21And she got so siced when I said that.
12:24Even though you're, like, three years younger than her.
12:26You should have seen her face.
12:27I couldn't believe he dropped that line.
12:29We were on the second floor, and her jaw dropped to the parking lot.
12:31He probably had 20 surf sides in him.
12:33Of course he dropped that line.
12:35So is that who you ended up making out with later in the night?
12:37No, that was just some other girls in Dewey.
12:39Oh, so you never connected with that girl after that?
12:41No, because this is where Valdez had a great line.
12:44Because he was like, dude, like, you should just skip your shower.
12:47Like, go out with these girls.
12:48And I was like, look, like, the night is just getting started.
12:50I don't want to, you know, jump on the first showcase.
12:54I want to kind of, you know.
12:55You want to let the night breathe a little bit.
12:57Yeah, I want to play the cards a little bit.
12:58And this is the ace up the sleeve for the night.
13:00Got it.
13:01I like it.
13:02That was your backup plan.
13:03Exactly.
13:03And then I ended up meeting a bunch of different people when we were out and stuff.
13:06Yeah, but I told Mar, sometimes the first showcase has the car.
13:10The second one has all the furniture.
13:11That is true.
13:12Did you go back to Starboard, or did you go to the rudder after that?
13:17We started right at Bottle and Cork.
13:20And Bottle and Cork, it was a lot of fun.
13:22The music is so loud that you, like, can barely hear yourself think.
13:24Trust me, I know.
13:25I heard it on Thursday night.
13:27Until about 1 p.m.
13:28I heard it.
13:30Yeah, and then we had friends that went to Rudder, and by the time the night was coming
13:35to an end, we said we got to finish it off at Starboard.
13:37But then Monty sent us pictures, or maybe you guys sent us pictures back to back.
13:41I guess it was you guys.
13:43You were up Sunday morning drinking, and then you check-raised them and showed your Bloody Mary
13:50from Ocean City.
13:51I had a Bloody Mary while I was having brunch in Ocean City the next day.
13:54I couldn't believe those pictures.
13:55Where'd you go in OC?
13:57Barn 34.
13:58Oh, okay, yeah.
13:59And then we...
14:00Great breakfast there.
14:01And then Sky Bar.
14:03I had been home for a full day already.
14:05Mike Marr, how did you do on Sunday?
14:09Well, I went home on Saturday.
14:11Oh, you did?
14:11Because I had, like, a phone situation.
14:12My phone was, like, not in great shape, and I was having a hard time getting a charge.
14:16And so it was at 50%, and I still had to spend the gift card that Monty sent us.
14:19So I woke up, went across the street.
14:21You had to.
14:22I mean, I'm literally wearing the jacket I got right now.
14:23This thing's fine.
14:24And then I was like, I only had 50%.
14:26Like, I don't know how to get home without directions.
14:30And it was monsooning rain.
14:33So I called Valdez.
14:34So I called Valdez, and he was already, like, an hour away in Ocean Pines.
14:38And I was like, hey, man, like, I just got to get back home.
14:41Like, what a trip.
14:42We had a good time.
14:42And I loved that.
14:43Like, he didn't push back.
14:44Like, I don't think he really wanted me in Ocean City.
14:46He was just like, all right, man, like, you know, do your thing.
14:48I'll see you on Tuesday back at work.
14:49Very nice.
14:50I think we very, I feel like we need another segment.
14:53I feel like we barely touched the surface.
14:55Barely scratched the surface of what happened.
14:56We just got a hard shenanigans.
14:57I will say, I am upset.
14:59I am upset at Marr because I was reading the situation.
15:02This chick would have skinny dipped with Marr if Marr would have just taken his boxers off.
15:08Yeah.
15:09He didn't take advantage of the situation at the moment.
15:11The situation's right there.
15:12All this girl wanted to do.
15:13Like, it wasn't about having sex.
15:15She was looking for a partner.
15:16It wasn't about having sex or anything.
15:18Like, she wanted her own story.
15:20Yeah.
15:21You know what I mean?
15:21She wanted a Memorial Day Dewey story.
15:23Right.
15:24And now, trying to explain that to Marr, it's like, dude, you don't have to make out with
15:27her.
15:27You don't have to.
15:28Just take your pants off.
15:28Just take your pants off.
15:30I know.
15:30Who cares?
15:30I don't know.
15:31I'm not looking at your dumb dong.
15:32I'm going to look at her boobs.
15:33Now he's going to deal with DMing her and all that stuff.
15:37It's a big thing.
15:37It was a cold plunge.
15:39Like, I got my feet in and stuff.
15:40Oh, I bet it was cold.
15:41It was so cold in that pool.
15:44I mean, it wouldn't.
15:45So it wouldn't have been flattering to you.
15:47Just help it out a little bit.
15:49Come on.
15:49It would have been a thimble.
15:50All right.
15:51We got a lot.
15:51I don't think we can move on.
15:53Because I still want to touch on, like, Sands being there and hanging out.
15:57Mike hanging out.
15:58Gary hanging out forever.
15:59I mean, all the listeners that came up.
16:02All the listeners that we met.
16:03I saw girls from college who I hadn't seen since 1993.
16:06Uh-oh.
16:07That were showing up.
16:08Yeah.
16:09It's crazy.
16:10We got more.
16:11More we got to get into.
16:12So we'll do more Dewey Beach recap.
16:13If you were there and experienced the weekend along with us, 800-636-1067.
16:19We'll take your calls on it as well next.
16:21We're the junks.
16:27So the junks are back from our Dewey Beach trip.
16:30We got back at all different assorted times over the weekend.
16:34But we're here.
16:35We're back.
16:35You didn't leave that far after me.
16:37Like, we had a cool lunch with Brett.
16:41Drabby was there.
16:43You, Rom.
16:44Yeah.
16:44Trying to think who else was at the table.
16:46It was about six or seven of us at the table.
16:49I guess Trey, Drab's buddy who I drove back to his house in Ashburn.
16:55Good dude.
16:56Yeah, yeah.
16:56Good dude.
16:56Congratulations to him.
16:57He's about to have a baby.
16:58I see him in Harris Teeter all the time.
17:00Hmm.
17:02This is what I came to my conclusion when I left.
17:05First of all, we need to make that an annual tradition.
17:07Mm-hmm.
17:08A hundred percent.
17:09And I'm trying to put this up as the poll of the day.
17:12Although, did Twitter take down polls?
17:16I have no idea.
17:16If you're not premium?
17:18Because we're not premium at Junks Radio.
17:20We're just at Junks Radio.
17:22We're non-premium.
17:22We don't have a check mark.
17:22You can't find it?
17:24Yeah, it used to be just at the bottom and hit poll, and then you come up with your options.
17:27And now there's a quote.
17:30I'd like to do the London trip.
17:32There's an energy when we do remote broadcasts.
17:35What is the London trip?
17:37Or the Commander's game.
17:38The Commander's game.
17:39We should...
17:40There's an energy when we have something to point to.
17:43Like, back in the day when we used to do Super Bowl shows, or we would do JPOs, and this
17:50Dewey Beach trip we had been promoting for a month or maybe even more than that.
17:54Looking forward to it.
17:55Like more, yeah.
17:55And when there's a big event, it's awesome to be part of it.
18:00And all the stuff we're talking about happens when we have things to look forward to.
18:05I get it.
18:06Doing the show in studio, it's more comfortable.
18:08Like, so many people came up to me and were like, that show was awesome.
18:11And I didn't feel...
18:12It felt disjointed to me because so many things were interrupted.
18:15And there's a lot of stuff going on behind the scenes.
18:17And you're talking to people.
18:19And you're taking pictures.
18:20You're doing a million things.
18:21But there is an energy to these broadcasts that I think it's awesome.
18:26And I think the London trip, Cakes and I are there at the charity golf tournament.
18:32Gabe's asking us, are you guys doing in London?
18:34And when I said, probably not, he seemed disappointed.
18:38Like, why wouldn't you be?
18:39Like, that's the place to be.
18:40Does he understand it costs money?
18:43To send six people over there?
18:45There's an expense involved.
18:46Yeah.
18:47I understand all that.
18:48But there was an expense.
18:49Apparently he doesn't.
18:50We used to do Super Bowl shows, too.
18:51Yeah, well, we were...
18:52When we went to Atlanta.
18:53There was a reason.
18:54And New Orleans.
18:55And Dallas.
18:56And Tampa.
18:58The money was there then.
18:59It's not there now.
19:00Well, that's not for us to figure out.
19:03Okay.
19:03Would you be willing to do it?
19:05I mean, am I going to get rope-a-doped into it?
19:08Because, no, I don't want to, but I will do it for the show.
19:11What is the producer perspective?
19:13Don't you think a road trip adds energy?
19:16By the way, you're not going to have that many people.
19:18I mean, Dewey Beach and Memorial League is a lot different energy level than you're going
19:22to get in London.
19:23Yeah, but you're in London.
19:25The junkie's overseas.
19:26Case has never been to Europe.
19:28Never been to Europe.
19:28They don't know who we are.
19:29Yeah, but it's talking about what you're doing.
19:31You know that.
19:33Look, I would be against it because I hate the travel.
19:37But if there's a company out there that's going to fly six or seven of us over there
19:41and put us up in a hotel for three nights or more, probably more than three nights.
19:46Probably more than that.
19:47For that long of a trip?
19:48Yeah.
19:50Personally, I'd love to take it across the pond.
19:52Oh, I know you want to go international.
19:53Dude, you'll go to freaking Pluto for a junk's trip.
19:58It's just a lot.
19:59There's a lot to ask to send us over there.
20:00It's just to be on the plane.
20:02The worst part is being on the plane.
20:03Correct.
20:04That's like six hours on a plane?
20:07Mm-hmm.
20:07Sounds like JP has some work to do in that room before he starts asking people.
20:11Well, I know that this was brought up at that table, and you were like, you need to push
20:16forward on the show.
20:17So you'd be down, right?
20:19He obviously would love it.
20:20I don't remember saying that, but...
20:21I told you.
20:22I said, JP, the way that you were...
20:24Yeah, I was telling you that.
20:26Just your fervor for it, I think it would be good for the show.
20:30I think it would be a good broadcast.
20:33It's in your wheelhouse.
20:35There'd be a lot of stories that would come out of it.
20:36A ton.
20:37And I understand the logistics of it would be in the infancy stages right now, and the
20:43money of it is...
20:44But if you had the opportunity to do a broadcast from London of a pre- and post-game show...
20:52Stay for the international game.
20:54I think it would sound good.
20:57I think it would be awesome.
20:58It would be fun.
20:59I mean, the travel part would stink, but it would be fun, I think, overall.
21:03I actually don't know if I'd survive it.
21:04I think I might die on the flight.
21:05I mean, I went to Delaware, and my voice is going to sound like Monty's now forever.
21:10It doesn't sound as bad.
21:11Can we lock in?
21:12It's gotten better over the last two or three days.
21:15I still don't think we've given enough props and thanks to Gary for swinging by on Thursday
21:22night, he and his wife.
21:23He was outstanding, taking a picture with everybody, chatting you up, doing the same
21:31thing on Friday morning for the show.
21:33Mike Bray was great, taking pictures and talking to everybody, spending time with us.
21:38These guys went out of their way.
21:39Gary did the Mitch and Finley show as well, and then I heard from a birdie named Monty
21:44that he was there the next day.
21:46Well, he lives down there.
21:47He's a staple of doing beach during the summer.
21:50All those guys lived down there.
21:52Sanzi just built a house there.
21:54I understood, but they went out of their way still to come.
21:57And Sanzi in particular, we've known Steve for a long time through the show, and he's
22:03always been great.
22:04He's even more chill and cool than I remember.
22:09Every time you hang out with him, you're always like, wow, what a great guy.
22:12I mean, just totally there to hang out and have a great time.
22:15His wife was there.
22:16I was just blown away.
22:17It's a fun community that they built down there in doing.
22:21That was a good time.
22:22And then all the listeners, the long-time listeners.
22:24And the fact that they came out there knowing there was going to be a billion people.
22:26It was going to be a circus.
22:27Yeah.
22:27And they stayed there for well after their little interview or whatever.
22:32Well after.
22:33And all the long-time listeners that, I mean, like Jason said early, that we've done not
22:39a ton, because you don't do a lot of live broadcasts at 6 a.m.
22:42Why?
22:43Because no one goes to it.
22:44Correct.
22:44It's stupid.
22:45Correct.
22:46We get up and, you know, I don't know.
22:47I couldn't believe how many people are there.
22:4940, 50, 60, 70, 80 people.
22:50It makes it builds, builds, builds throughout the morning.
22:53People like waiting before we get there.
22:55Mm-hmm.
22:55During the show.
22:56Waiting to get in.
22:57And I was just blown away by the number of people that went out of the way to get up
23:02early on a cold, kind of miserable day to hang out.
23:07I talked to at least two people Thursday night, early Thursday night, that were like, I'm going
23:11to be there at 5.45.
23:12And I was like, you don't need to be there that early.
23:14Trust me.
23:15But there were a bunch of people there that early.
23:17There was probably.
23:18It wasn't just like two or three.
23:19It was like.
23:20By 50.
23:21There were like a lot of people waiting when we were getting there, just setting up our
23:25gear.
23:25Right.
23:25And then once it got to six o'clock, that tripled.
23:28It was insane.
23:29Because there were people out on the street by the time we started the show.
23:31Yeah.
23:32So, I mean, we really appreciate people making that trip.
23:35That's not like a, that's not a half hour trip.
23:37That's a three plus hour trip with probably in beach traffic for Memorial Day weekend.
23:43Did Bish Bucks make it back to the starboard after your nap?
23:46No, I did not.
23:48Because I had friends down in Ocean City, and we went to dinner at our favorite Italian
23:53restaurant, Fausto's.
23:54Ah, very good.
23:55I was in bed by, you guys are going to laugh, I was in bed by seven o'clock on
24:00Friday.
24:00Wow, man.
24:02Partier.
24:02But it was the worst night of sleep because all I heard was screaming from all the drunkards
24:06outside of the hotel.
24:07Of course.
24:08And I couldn't sleep.
24:09So, I left the hotel at 5 a.m.
24:12Oh, you did.
24:12On Saturday morning.
24:13I got home at eight.
24:14My wife couldn't.
24:15It's still like.
24:15My wife couldn't.
24:16Ten hours of sleep.
24:17Now, believe me, I wasn't sleeping.
24:19Yeah.
24:19I was not sleeping.
24:21I was on my phone for most of it.
24:22I left at 5 p.m.
24:24On Friday night.
24:25I was considering going back to the starboard, but after lunch, I did a loop through the
24:29starboard, and it was getting packed already.
24:32The crowd had the average age dipped from, I would say, the 50s down to mid-20s to early
24:4030s.
24:41Of course.
24:41I didn't recognize anybody.
24:42Yes.
24:43I had a few drinks.
24:44We went back to the motel.
24:45We were hanging out.
24:46I looked at Rob.
24:47He looked terrible.
24:49Well, he always looks terrible.
24:51And I was not feeling great, so I was just like, you know what?
24:54I'm not going to make it late tonight.
24:55How many stops?
24:56I'm just going to pull the plug.
24:57On the way home and fill us in.
24:59Four stops on the way home.
25:00Because Rob was ill.
25:02He was nauseous, throwing up four different times.
25:06Four different stops.
25:07So side of the road or in stops?
25:09When he told me he was nauseous, I looked at him.
25:11I said, you cannot throw up in this car.
25:13I don't mind pulling over for you, but you can't throw up in here.
25:17Not that the car is anything special.
25:18It's a 10-year-old beater.
25:19But it would take forever to clean that thing up.
25:21If he throws up in the car, then I'm going to throw up.
25:24And then it's a big scene.
25:26And the car will stink forever.
25:27So I was like, if you have to go, I'll pull over.
25:30Is he putting his finger down his throat and throwing up?
25:32He did that a couple times.
25:34Then the other two times, it was organic.
25:36It was natural.
25:37So was this just from Thursday?
25:39Was he drinking a lot on Friday?
25:42You think he wasn't drinking on Friday?
25:43I don't remember.
25:45He couldn't wait to order two Long Island iced teas as soon as he got in.
25:49That's his move.
25:50Walking around with two watered-down Long Island iced teas for two hours.
25:53And then he just gets more and more annoying.
25:55Like, he's somewhat palatable with a drink or two.
25:58But then he just...
25:59I mean, do you know what I mean?
26:00I don't know.
26:01Is it just me, or does he hug and grope you guys, too, as he gets more and more drunk?
26:05Of course.
26:05Like, gropey and gropey and gropey.
26:07To the point where you want to strangle him.
26:10You want to kill him.
26:11I can't tell you how many times...
26:12He would interrupt conversations I was having.
26:15Of course.
26:15Every time.
26:16I mean, I'm talking to people I haven't seen in forever.
26:18And he's busting in, and he's saying, bro, one more trip to Vegas.
26:24Right.
26:24He just interrupts conversations.
26:26Yeah, yeah, yeah.
26:26Just totally.
26:27And I say, bro, I'll talk to you in a little bit.
26:30I'm talking here.
26:31And he doesn't care.
26:32He doesn't care.
26:32I did the doing...
26:34I mean, he's one of the rudest people.
26:35He's one of the rudest people ever.
26:36Who does that?
26:36I did a solid.
26:38He's very rude.
26:38By removing him from the equation.
26:40I was just like, we're leaving.
26:42We're getting out of here.
26:43I can't handle another night with you.
26:44I just can't.
26:45I got to tell you, I got a kick out of talking to Drunk Mike, but I don't know what
26:48he said
26:4875% of the time.
26:50He was fun to talk to.
26:51Drunk Mike was there.
26:52If you go to our Instagram, Sports Junkies Radio, if you're curious, so many people were
26:55like, I never knew what Drunk Mike looked like.
26:58Drunk Mike was there, and he would just say like one word, and he'd kind of make me laugh,
27:02and then he'd keep talking, and I'd have no idea what he was saying.
27:05He was like, I also want to shout out everybody that was so nice to Vinny.
27:11Vinny was on cloud nine.
27:13Hey, I love it here at Dewitt Beach.
27:14This is my spot.
27:15For 54.
27:15He's like, they love me.
27:16People love me.
27:16Everybody loves me.
27:17They love Vinny.
27:17He was having the time of his life.
27:20Who needs Joe?
27:20It's all about Vinny.
27:21It's Vinny.
27:22It's Vinny's show.
27:23He was wearing his Mets gear Friday morning, too, wasn't he?
27:25And his mare sweatshirt, so people knew who he was, and he had an absolute blast.
27:30I do feel bad for him because his persona on the show, if Cake's doing the impression,
27:34people think that he's a jerk or how he behaves.
27:36I know, I feel like Cake is kind of mean to him, but he's such a sweet guy.
27:40Vinny's a 10 out of 10.
27:41He's so sweet.
27:42He's the nicest guy ever.
27:43It's just a generic, aggressive New York accent.
27:46No, no, of course, the listeners think he's like some sort of a-hole, but no, he's actually
27:50a 10 out of 10.
27:51He's super nice.
27:51Nice guy.
27:51As is Joe.
27:52Joe couldn't be a nicer guy.
27:54Joe, I don't know.
27:54I don't really know about him.
27:55Vinny, for sure.
27:56Joe had some FOMO that he wasn't there, but he had a coach.
27:59He couldn't make it down.
28:00He called me.
28:01He was upset, but he'll be there for the next one, for sure.
28:04Vinny's great.
28:04He also had to give a big thank you to Monumental and all the camera staff and all the support
28:10from them, getting Mitch and company down to do the beach, having all the cameras set
28:16up.
28:17I mean, Monumental was good.
28:18Everything that the station did, from CK down, thank you to Will.
28:23Everything, most great Will in promotions, brought his wife.
28:26He did a nice video, too.
28:29Recapping the event.
28:30I mean, the signage, everything was great.
28:31I know we paid for the t-shirts, and we got to make the money back, but Monty couldn't
28:36have been better about, like, literally gave us gift cards.
28:39At one point, the woman, you didn't take my gift card.
28:41She said, Monty said, you guys get whatever you want.
28:44She wouldn't even take the gift card, okay?
28:46It's too nice.
28:47That's how Monty is, right?
28:48And so, you know, I'm unloaning up somewhere.
28:50I go over, and I go, I have friends that need some t-shirts.
28:53My kids want some t-shirts.
28:54I look at the promotions woman, and I say, you know, what are we doing here?
29:00And she goes, yeah, it's $30 plus fee or whatever.
29:04And I'm looking at her, and I'm going, I go, can I get a cost or something?
29:09Like, whatever it is.
29:10A little discount?
29:10And she stares right through me, and I end up buying three of our own t-shirts for,
29:16like, $130.
29:18Well done.
29:19Why did you do that?
29:20Because she just stared right through me.
29:22She stared right through me.
29:24Was that Will's wife?
29:25I had you, and I set aside.
29:26No, it wasn't Will's wife, because Will's wife was laughing hysterically.
29:29I looked at her, and I said, this is maybe the most ridiculous thing in my career.
29:34And I just gave her my credit card.
29:36I paid $130 so I could get t-shirts for my kids.
29:38That's crazy.
29:39It was, I just walked, I'm still, just, my mind is broken.
29:45I don't know how to handle it.
29:46I don't know how to process it.
29:47Let's go to Earl real quick on line two.
29:50Earl, what's up?
29:51You're on one of the jokes.
29:52Good morning, my friends.
29:54How you doing?
29:55Thank you for taking my call.
29:56Yep.
29:57I was down there.
29:58I left my house in beautiful Burgers Hill, Maryland, at about 6.20 a.m.
30:03I got to the starboard about 8.45, 8.50.
30:08I was only about an hour and whatnot, but I had a ball.
30:11Never seen so many people in all my life.
30:13I know.
30:14It was crazy.
30:14But it was great.
30:15It was great to finally meet and see you guys live in person.
30:19I can't wait to hope you all do it again next year.
30:22I will be there for that.
30:23But I had a ball.
30:25Hopefully, I said I'm going to get about an hour or so, unfortunately.
30:27But I had fun when I was there.
30:30I don't know if I was behind you.
30:32I'm going to put the Maryland shirt on.
30:34But I had a ball.
30:35It was really nice.
30:37Glad you had it, man.
30:37Very cool.
30:38It was fantastic.
30:39Very cool.
30:40So glad you came, buddy.
30:41Love you guys.
30:42All right.
30:42Love you, too, man.
30:43Thank you, buddy.
30:44Doesn't seem to be working.
30:45I don't know if we've lost the ability to use a poll.
30:48Well, what is the poll question?
30:51Should the Junks radio show take it on the road and follow the commanders to London?
30:56Overwhelmingly, yes, so far.
30:58Cheerio.
30:59Very good.
30:59Had to make it happen.
31:00One more.
31:01Let's go to Steve and Laurel.
31:03Steve, what's up?
31:05Good morning, guys.
31:06Hey, Steve.
31:07Hey, buddy.
31:08That was a great couple days.
31:11I was there Thursday night, Friday morning.
31:13It was awesome.
31:14Just a couple things, if I could.
31:16Yeah.
31:16You mentioned the t-shirts.
31:18I got the last 2X.
31:20You announced that they ran out of 2X.
31:22Yeah.
31:24That disappointed the guys around.
31:26There's a lot of 2X guys there.
31:27Probably, yeah.
31:28A lot of big guys.
31:29Yeah, we appeal to the 2X crowd.
31:32Yeah, that leads to the next.
31:34I'm afraid your demo's starting to get out of the age group.
31:38Me, 65, and all the guys.
31:40We're getting old, man.
31:41I didn't realize how old we all are.
31:44Well, thanks for cheering us on.
31:47Thanks, man.
31:48I realize it every time I look in the mirror, bro.
31:49Yeah.
